The new centre will host a range of Facebook online technical, sales and operations to support users in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

'After exploring various locations throughout the region, we decided Ireland was the best place to establish our new headquarters,' Chief Operating Officer of Facebook Sheryl Sandberg said.
Facebook has its headquarters in Palo Alto, California.
Founded in February 2004, the free Facebook website has grown into the number one social-networking site, allowing members to keep up with friends and family all around the world. It is estimated that 100 million people are signed up the site, with membership growing by 250,000 every day.
